Who are we looking for?We are seeking a highly experienced chief marketing officer to lead our marketing and branding efforts. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a proven track record in FMCG marketing, including substantial international experience, particularly in Africa. You are an exceptional leader, adept at managing diverse teams, building relationships across stakeholders, and driving business growth through innovative marketing strategies.
What will you do?Develop and execute strategies
- Craft and implement brand and marketing strategies aligned with business goals.
- Ensure seamless brand architecture planning and oversight.
Leadership and team management
- Supervise and mentor marketing department staff, including creative and design teams.
- Manage collaborations with internal and external stakeholders, including agencies, event managers, and regulatory bodies.
Drive marketing initiatives
- Oversee strategic programmes and activities to maximise brand reach and engagement.
- Design innovative promotional programmes to attract business from wholesalers, distributors, and retailers.
Budget and performance management
- Manage trade spend and allocate advertising and promotional budgets effectively.
- Define evaluation metrics to optimise marketing investments and measure ROI.
Market analysis and feedback
- Track and analyse competition, market trends, and consumer feedback to enhance brand performance.
- Provide insights on product launches and promotional strategies.
What do you need?Education
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, finance, or a related field.
- Advanced knowledge of FMCG principles and administration is essential.
Experience
- At least twenty years of FMCG experience, with a focus on marketing and operations.
- A minimum of five years of international experience, including work in Africa.
Key competencies
- Business acumen and a strong understanding of FMCG operations.
