IT TechnicianMy client in George is looking for an IT Technician to join their team. The ideal candidate will troubleshoot hardware and software issues, maintain network systems, and ensure smooth and secure daily operations. Key responsibilities- Technical support: Provide first-line support to users, resolving technical issues related to hardware, software, and network systems.
- Installation and maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and networking equipment.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical problems in a timely and effective manner.
- Network administration: Monitor and maintain local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and ensure connectivity for end-users.
- Data security: Implement and maintain data security protocols, including antivirus and firewall updates.
- Documentation: Maintain records of IT assets, update technical documentation, and log resolved issues.
- User training: Provide guidance and training to end-users on system functionality, security, and best practices.
Required skills and qualifications- Education: Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT support or a similar role.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and common office software.
- Knowledge of network configurations, protocols, and equipment (routers, switches, etc.).
- Experience with IT troubleshooting tools and remote support applications.
- Certifications: A+ Certification, Network+, or other IT certifications (preferred).
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail
