Architect Project Manager
Our client, an international consultancy company with offices based in Woodstock, Cape Town, has an opening for an architect project manager. They provide dedicated design management services to world-renowned architects, including Aedes, Foster + Partners, HKS, and more!
The role
This role focuses on managing design processes rather than actively participating in design. It supports architectural practices by overseeing the delivery of design management services across multiple projects.
Please note: This is
not a designer role and will
not be involved in the construction phase of projects. They also do
not deliver IT software.
Responsibilities
Carry out project management activities, including:
- Supporting the architect in the administration, set-up, and quality assurance activities of the project.
- Managing the interface between the design team and the client.
- Being responsible for progress reporting.
- Providing strategic advice where needed.
- Planning and structuring the design process with the design team to provide a collaborative output.
- Delivering high-quality services and receiving positive client feedback.
- Preparing documentation and consultancy services supporting architects in design competitions by issuing accurate, correct, and quality documentation.
- Demonstrating a proactive approach to engaging with project teams, following up on information exchanges, and monitoring programme tasks.
- Managing and multitasking workload priorities.
Requirements- At least three years' experience in architecture and/or design with a good understanding of design processes (please note this is a non-design role).
- Project management experience.
- Comfortable presenting and interfacing with clients with strong communication skills.
- Understanding or knowledge of RIBA stages (or similar).
- Proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel.
- Experience with Visio and MS Projects is a plus.
