General sales manager – Stellenbosch, Western CapeOur client is seeking a general sales manager to lead their team and maximise profitability for new and used vehicle segments. The role requires setting strategic sales goals with dealership leadership while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
Key responsibilities- Develop and manage strategic sales plans to drive profitability and growth
- Motivate and oversee the sales team to achieve targets and ensure excellent customer service
- Optimise operational efficiency within the sales department
- Manage the sales department budget alongside the dealer principal and financial manager
- Support sales staff in closing deals, including managing vehicle evaluations and trade-ins
- Attract, retain, and develop skilled sales personnel
Minimum requirements- Senior certificate (grade twelve); a diploma in management, marketing, or sales is advantageous
- Three to five years of experience managing sales teams in automotive retail, with expertise in both new and used car markets
- Proven record of exceeding sales targets with a sound understanding of CPA, FICA, POPIA, and NCA regulations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, financial management, and budgeting
- Valid driver’s licence
