In high school I was enrolled in a scholarship called The ERF shortened for Educhange of Research Foundation. The scholarship offers academic, financial and life orientation assistance
In matric I got a Bachelor's degree pass, with two distinctions. I was doing the science stream it includes, Lifescinces, Geography, Physical science and Pure Mathematics.
I involuntarily took a gap year since I was struggling with financial assistance to further my studies. However as a resilient young women that I am, I attacked my gap year broadly, head high.
Two months later of sitting at home I applied for a 3 months computer course at Emdeni Skills Development Centre that I completed without allowing anything to block my vision. The course included, Advanced computer (Word, PowerPoint and Excel), Business Administration and Life skills. I graduated.
After completing the course I started volunteering for an organization the YMCA, it is world known, assisting the youth as well as kids after school with homework. When I started volunteering there was an event whereby we had visitors from Atlanta same age group (teens) the YMCA Soweto was hosting the event . We had to show them Johannesburg in a week's time. We took our visitors to quite a few memorial places namely, Aparthed Museum, Sandton City Mall and Orlando West at the Sakhumuzi restaurant,.
My first interview was with the Nike store in Sandton first with the store manager and the second interview with the regional manager. I got the job as a sales assistant same day after I was interviewed.
Being a sales assistant at Nike was my first job, I passionately enjoyed working at Nike, there were so many benefits on my plate. Since it is located in Sandton City Working with multiple customers from all different places of the world was a great experience.
The Nike store was my inspiration to start going to gym.Store targets for every individual had to be strictly reached. I had a good relationship with the managers and my colleagues
I later realized that I am still young and I still need to fulfill my dreams. Working at the Nike store gave me so much perspective and I was starting to be super comfortable. I then took the chance off going back to school and complete my degree. The thought of resigning made me sick because everything about my current job was super fine. Nike also improved my presenting skills and product knowledge.
Finally, I resigned and all the managers wished me good luck , I was one of the responsible, organized, energitic and trusted employee. So basically I was an asset to the company.
I am currently a student at the UJ completing a BA in Strategic Communication and Marketing Communication Degree. To tell the truth I'm looking forward to any adventure that will help me grow academically, financially, spiritually and mentally.
At the moment the above archivements are my source of growth and motivation, and I am looking forward for many more opportunities.
