Shylo Pereira

Shylo is a performing artist in South Africa, as well as an Artist Development Specialist.
Shylo grew up in the small province of Kwa-zulu Natal, in South Africa, where she was brought up on artists like Barbra Streisand and Ella Fitzgerald.
She started playing the violin and piano at the age of 4 and followed with singing, at 9. The violin and piano have had a huge influence on her singing and songwriting.

During her school years she competed in many eisteddfods and competitions, winning her categories every time, in all instruments. She has also attained distinctions in the ABRSM Grade 8 examinations for all three instruments, attaining some of the highest marks in the country.
She was a member of the KZN Youth Choir and the South African Youth Orchestra all throughout her high school career, performing solos and touring internationally.

Shylo studied at the prestigious Academy of Contemporary Music in UK, attaining her honors in Performing Arts, before joining the gigging circuit all over UK, including performing at the acclaimed Cobden Club and Sound Café, as well as music festivals performing alongside Simple Minds and Blondie.
In 2010 she was a featured story for SA Idols. In 2014 she was the Overall Grand Champion winner at the South African Championships of Performing Arts, where she won a fully paid trip to Hollywood to compete in the World Championships.

She is also a vocal and acting coach of 18 years (also teaching in piano and violin) but her focus is now artist development.

In 2017, Shylo has released her heart project THE NOTE BOOK, on social media platforms, where she covered one song a week for 56 weeks.
In 2018, Shylo made a comeback to the performing world, appearing in shows like the well-received "That's Life", and a Carpenters Show, which have been very well-received by local audiences.
In 2018, Shylo founded an Artist Development platform. She is the director and founder of PROJECT PERFORMER, which is a South African initiative, giving young and talented performers in singing, dancing and acting, the opportunity to pursue their dreams in performing arts locally and internationally.
