Sacha Johnston
I am a mid-senior Graphic Designer look for work in Johannesburg.
In all my work I strive for professionalism, and I am a passionate designer with a tremendous value for perseverance. I am task-oriented and enjoy a challenge. I value critique from colleagues and coworkers, as critique motivates learning and improvement in areas that cannot be achieved by oneself.
I see myself as my greatest competition and am driven by self-improvement. I aspire to do my best, and often when I think I have completed a project, I step back and think, "But how could it be better?" If a person becomes content with the level of his or her achievements or skills, that person forfeits the ability to rise to their greatest potential. My desire to excel at my work and soak up as much experience as I can has provided me with a broad understanding of my career in a fairly short period of time. As my current boss, Nadia du Plessis, owner of Design Figment, stated in her recommendation letter, "Sacha is a very cooperative, dedicated and diligent employee. Her learning ability, organizational skills and work ethics are exceptional. I believe that Sacha is a worthy applicant for a mid to senior level design position as she has shown experience and maturity beyond her age in her work." My former boss, Jenny Fultz of Well Communications Group, back when I was living in the United States of America, described me as a "an excellent self-teacher and very quick learner." She stated in a reference letter she wrote for me that, "Sacha's education as a graphic design major taught her a firm foundation of design theory and composition. Her creative problem-solving was also evident, and honed, while with us. She is adept at illustration, and in taking a hand-drawn concept and converting it to a vector image. In addition to being a skilled designer and creative thinker, Sacha is delightful to have around. Her introverted personality creates in her a focused, hard worker - but her positive, cheerful and clever personality offer many opportunities for her humor and encouragement to shine."
