Career Highlights
Reconciled supplier statements down from 2 page lengths to 2-3 lines length and similarly cleaned up the Supplier Age Analysis to a suitable length and format(i.e: Only current items reflecting monthly).
Prepared and produced both cost center and trend analysis reports to directors who deemed it of a suitable quality to then forward on directly to the customers.
Finished off the months of February and March 2019 as the individual in our department with the highest total billings to clients (Revenue earned for the company).
Began as a SAICA trainee accountant with Russell James and Company Incorporated in 2013 and was handed my first small compilation engagement to complete with no supervision in 2013 itself (Revenue of +-R 5 000 000.00).
Allocated my first IFRS for SME audit engagement to complete with limited supervision within 1.5 years of being at the firm (Revenue of +-R150 000 000.00). Commended by my senior employees as to how well the project and the team was managed which resulted in requests being received from the client and management for me to manage the project again in the following years.
Selected by the engagement partners to manage many diverse teams on their high profile audits (Revenue +-R500 000 000.00) and was involved in the discussions/amendments thereof all the way up the partners placing their signatures on to the financial statements.
Received my 5 year service award from Russell James and Company Incorporated during which time I completed engagements for sole traders, partnerships, close corporations and private companies, the majority of them being under the IFRS for SME framework.
Developed a template in Excel that became the firm standard template used by all staff to prepare a time budget for all the different types of engagements performed on Caseware.
This also included analysis as to the fluctuation from previous year and budget vs actual analysis.
Served as the team leader when we won the 'Masterchef 2016' teambuilding exercise at Russell James and Company Incorporated. Each team was given a fixed budget and an 'area of operations' such as Africa, South America.etc. We were then required to prepare meals and drinks within their budget to entertain their peers, following which everyone voted as to who was the best in their opinion.
We had the largest spread, the happiest team and remained within budget which led to us being the busiest stall of the day and thus becoming the winners.
Voted by my peers as their 'Manager of the year' in 2018.
Also voted the best duo with a colleague of mine by our peers in the same year.
