As an industrial engineering student in my final year of studies, the study opportunity and process has helped to shape my character and taught me valuable skills. These skills include the ability to think critically and analytically, creatively solve problems holistically, persevere, optimally utilise available resources and actively engage in teamwork.

With the completion of my degree-mandated vocational training I learnt to liaise with industry professionals, to create and exploit opportunities and hone my work ethics and professional conduct. The work was done at Soleil Sitrus, a citrus fruit pack house and exporter, and Cook Manufacturing Group SA, where I had the chance to observe project management techniques for the optimisation of a fruit processing plant. Vacation work was also completed at Francine’s Venue, where I learnt cross-functional communication and how to practically execute event planning for customer satisfaction.

I strive for lifelong and believe in attaining a healthy work-life balance and therefor enjoy road running (half marathons), fellowship with friends and honing my ingenuity by creating something from available resources.
