Dealer Network General Manager

Our client in the commercial trucking industry is looking for a dealer network general manager in the Gauteng, East Rand area.

Requirements:
  • Tertiary sales qualification
  • Minimum five years’ experience in a similar role
  • Code 8 licence and own vehicle
  • Excel, Word, PPT proficiency
  • Commercial truck industry experience
Responsibilities:
  • Take control of policies and procedures pertaining to dealer business to ensure specialist knowledge exists to assist and advise branch and dealer staff quickly within the sales and aftersales departments.
  • Monitor available training offered by the company to the dealer network to ensure consistent training attendance by the company branch and dealer staff.
  • Assist DPs with setting up training plans to upskill staff members to create a strong team.
  • Participate in relevant training programmes to ensure continued competence within business is professionally carried out.
  • Assist with mentoring internal staff to ensure staff backup plans are in place.
  • Monitor staff morale at dealers and branches, addressing any problem areas that could hamper the company brand.
  • Manage work efficiently with clear communication.
  • Strive to ensure a high-quality work ethic exists at all times to improve skills and the dealer and branch staff.
  • Assist dealers in achieving 100% vehicle sales targets.
  • Manage financial budgets and asset control, ensuring planning and cost-saving measures remain within allocated operational budgets.
  • Ensure dealer debtor’s books are controlled, with all payments for parts and vehicle stock settled within the required policy time frame.
  • Ensure asset vehicle management for loan and demo unit usage adheres to agreed parameters and no overdue usage is allowed.
  • Visit dealers in the region at least five times a year, providing feedback per visit template report and highlighting any areas of concern for further resolution.
  • Assist dealers in developing business plans with measurable goals to improve all aspects of their business.
  • Follow up on action plans monthly and quarterly.
  • Assist dealers in resolving any business problems using the PDCA cycle and help implement countermeasures through the company's head office.
  • Collaborate with the internal marketing team to ensure all marketing efforts are successfully implemented at dealers to promote the company’s brand awareness and leverage sales.
  • Monitor customer complaint resolutions to manage the brand positively.
  • Visit branches and dealers to help retain and obtain accounts during alternate dealer visits.
  • Acquire specialist knowledge within specialised segments and act as a specialist agent both internally and within the dealer network.
  • Establish dealer network teams and regular training sessions.
  • Establish management processes and monitor their implementation.
