Zambian economic gurus hold trade and investment meeting

A 60-member strong team, drawn from various sectors of economy in Zambia, were last Friday, gathered at Solwezi Provincial city to see how best they can explore trade and investment opportunities in the country.

The meeting organised by the Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) was financed by the 9th European Union capacity building for private sector development programme.

ZDA communication and public relations manager, Margaret Chimanse said the main aim of the meeting was to give a different trade and investment view to the participants in order to generate their interest.

“This was part of our countrywide awareness campaigns in provinces to sensitise the business community on opportunities in the country,” she said.

Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry permanent secretary, Davidson Chilipamushi, gave a keynote address wherein he challenged the participants to take Zambia to a new height.

Amongst those that participated in the meeting were some selected company tours within the Solwezi province.
Government established Zambia Development Agency through the Act of parliament to foster economic growth by promoting investment and trade through efficient, effective and co-ordinated private sector-led growth.
